Dr Asma Ibrahim

Dr Asma Ibrahim is the Founder/Director of the State Bank Museum in Pakistan. She previously served as Curator/Director in the Department of Archaeology & Museums for 20 years. She has been an advisor to several museum and conservation projects, presently in the establishment of the Archives of the State Bank of Pakistan. She is a member of SEAS Pakistan, Centre for Archaeological & Environmental Research, General Secretary for ICOMON (the ICOM Committee of Money & Banking Museums), and a member of ICOM FIREC (Finance and Resource Committee). Her publications include textbooks for class 4 & 5. She recently received a second US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation grant for the restoration of Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture. Dr Ibrahim’s ground-breaking work on the Persian mummy has been documented by the BBC and others. She is a Fulbright Scholar. Asma is planning to develop a project in collaboration between CAM and the British Council, the Museums Association of Karachi and the State Bank of Pakistan, Museum, Archives, & Art Gallery. After attending CAM events she trains colleagues in what she learns through her participation.ver else she is needed!
